Greg Fell, Director of Public Health in Sheffield, outlines Sheffield’s weekly position – now back in Tier 3, since 2 December. He goes through the latest epidemiology figures, Sheffield’s continuing objectives and commitments and reinforces the need to maintain all the measures in place – hand washing, distancing, face coverings, bubbles, testing etc. – to reduce the potential of infection spreading, particular being mindful of Christmas and the temporary relaxing of restrictions.

Coronavirus – Sheffield re-enters Tier 3 (Very High Alert) 2 December 2020

New National Restrictions from 5 November 2020

Information on the new national restrictions, including what they mean for working from home and business closures, why they are being introduced and the financial support available.

COVID-19 case numbers are rising rapidly across the whole of the UK and in other countries. We must act now to control the spread of the virus. The single most important action we can all take, in fighting coronavirus, is to stay at home, to protect the NHS and save lives.

When we reduce our day-to-day contact with other people, we will reduce the spread of the infection. That is why, from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December, the Government is taking the following action:

In light of current developments and guidance around Covid-19, we are sadly cancelling all Maan Somali Mental Health Sheffield community engagement, health and social care providers’ events, meetings, in-reach to hospitals in-reach activities and home visits until further notice. We will be providing regular phone, video calls and text contact to all our service users and carers.
